Bastian Liebermann was born in the City of New York (USA). After he spent some of his childhood years there he and his family moved back to Germany, where he then lived for the remaining part of his youth and young adulthood.
After graduating from school he then worked as a media designer for about 2 years before he pursued his dream of flying helicopters.
He began his aviation career by getting his private pilot's license for helicopters in Germany. Having done some flying in Germany he then decided to go to the US to continue his training. Now he holds the FAA commercial pilot's license with an instrument rating and also is an instrument-rated flight instructor.
He now lives and flies in Maryland, USA, and still enjoys visiting family and friends in Europe.
Bastian founded CFIBastian in 2011 with the mindset of making resources available to all pilots wherever they might be in their career and help inspire a safety mindset coupled with a desire to always keep on learning across the industry.
Although not a full time CFI at this point Bastian is an instructor pilot for the unit he currently flies for and very much enjoys helping other pilots succeed and share tips and tricks he has learned over close to 8,000 hours of flight time.
